inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Ministry of Villages and Development of Disadvantaged Regions stated that the Free Nutritious Meals program initiated by President Prabowo Subianto's government is a form of direct intervention in handling stunting in Indonesia.
"Stunting can be reduced indirectly, such as with good sanitation, good houses. But this (Free Nutritious Meals program), took a direct action by improving the nutrition," said the Head of the Village, Disadvantaged Regions, and Transmigration Development and Information Agency (BPI), Ivanovich Agusta on Friday (11/8/2024).
Ivan said the implementation of the Free Nutritious Meal program in dealing with stunting is also backed by nutritionists.
He said that in every kitchen or what in the program is called the Nutrition Service Unit, there are nutritionists who will monitor the nutritional content of each food distributed free of charge to students from early childhood education (PAUD) to high school. Other than to students, the food will also be delivered to pregnant and lactating mothers, and toddlers.
The service units will be spread throughout the villages and sub-districts with a service scale of one Nutrition Service Unit serving three thousand people.
