Garut Regency Declares 14-Day Emergency Following Earthquake

Inp.polri.go.id - Garut. Garut regency has announced a 14-day state of emergency following a 6.2 magnitude earthquake, aiming to address various disasters, including landslides. 

Effective from 26 April  2024, the declaration encompasses previous incidents and mobilizes resources for relief efforts, as reported by antaranews.com.

Garut regency  administration Secretary Nurdin Yana said on Sunday (28/4/2024) that the declaration allows the allocation of funds from the unforeseen expenses budget. 

Damage assessments indicate varying levels of damage to homes and public facilities, including hospitals and schools.

Nurdin emphasized that while the earthquake caused injuries, there have been no reported fatalities.
