Inp.polri.go.id - Denpasar. The Singaraja Immigration Office in Bali has deported a German tourist for violating his tourist visa by working as a diving instructor in Tulamben, Karangasem Regency.

“He was deported after our team conducted an on-site investigation,” said Hendra Setiawan, theHead of the Singaraja Immigration Office, on Monday (7/10/2024).

The German tourist, identified as FM (59), was caught guiding tourists at a dive site on September 20 when Immigration officials discovered him in a pickup truck wearing diving gear. Investigations revealed that he was working at a local dive equipment rental business.

FM entered Indonesia on 26 July 2024, using a Visa on Arrival (VoA), which was extended until 23 September 2024. However, the VoA is not valid for employment purposes.

He was deported via Ngurah Rai International Airport, escorted by Immigration officers to board a flight to Frankfurt via Bangkok.

From January to September 2024, Bali Immigration has deported 412 foreigners, a significant increase compared to 2023, which saw 335 deportations.
