Inp.polri.go.id – Jakarta. The Indonesian government is currently trying to finalize the Presidential Decree (Perpres) on child safety from online games. The aim of the decree is to suppress the widespread of criminal activities in online games such as violence, pornography, sexual abuse, and bullying.
“We have harmonized the decree with the ministries, institutions, and regional government so that their duties, functions and authorities do not overlap. We aim to finalize the decree in this year,” said the Deputy of the Child Protection Division, Nahar on Wednesday (4/17/2024).
Nahar says that games containing violences could impact negatively on children’s mentality and actions. The government will also continue to monitor the content and online games containing violence, and even ready to ban the game entirely.
