Inp.polri.go.id – Jakarta. Government will rearrange the National Museum after the fire incident that burns the building. There are 817 artifacts that were damaged due to the incident. Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture (Menko PMK) Muhadjir Effendy says that his party have coordinated with Directorate General of Culture, and Educational, Culture, Research and Technology Ministry for the rearrangement. “We will try to revitalize, cultivate, and safeguard the artifacts with current and international standard,” said Muhadjir in his official statement, Thursday (9/21/2023). Currently the hundreds of artifacts are being identified and cleaned for the first step of conservation. “There are 817 damaged artifacts that are being identified which suffers the most and the less damage,” said Muhadjir. He suggests that the revitalization should connect the system of museum with the fire fighters, which would provide earlier and quicker handling on fire incidents. Other than that, the revitalization was also part of modernization to transform the museum into international-standard museum such as those in the developed countries. He felt that this is important as museums serves as vital object that should be protected and continuously developed. “There should be a modernization on the equipment and how to overcome challenges, such as fire incident and others,” said Muhadjir.
