Inp.polri.go.id – Jakarta. The Communication and Information Minister, Budi Arie Setiadi states that TikTok Shop has the operation permit as e-commerce from the Trade Ministry. This was later found out after Budi held an audience with TikTok management. "I called them (TikTok), and they said they have the permit since July 2023 as e-commerce from the trade department," said Budi in his interview with Kompas.tv om Thursday (9/21/2023). The permit that TikTok acquire is Business Permit for Advertising, Guidance and Supervision of Business Actors in Trading Through Electronic Systems. With the current technological development, it should not be surprising that there are two business models blended into one platform, he explains. Therefore, he states that there is no need for TikTok to split their apps into two. "Everything now has been merged into one. There are also other social media platforms who works as e-commerce, so it should not be a big deal," said Budi. (ad/as/pr/nm)
