inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Minister of Social Affairs Saifullah Yusuf, emphasized that the Sekolah Rakyat (People's School) is the government's commitment to ensuring adequate services for vulnerable groups, especially after seeing worrying student health data.

"Together with the Ministry of Social Affairs, we both want to ensure that the poor, people with disabilities, the elderly, and other vulnerable groups receive adequate services," said the Minister of Social Affairs, Tuesday (10/7/2025).

The selection of the People's School as the location for the dialogue is considered strategic to bring social welfare issues directly to the education community and grassroots communities.

The dialogue was triggered by the presentation of the results of health examinations on 7,409 students, which showed that 52 percent of them needed further treatment at community health centers.

The data revealed the fact that dental caries was the main problem with sufferers reaching 49 percent or as many as 3,632 children.

Other worrying conditions are the low level of student fitness (33.5 percent) and the high prevalence of anemia that infected 1,396 students (26.6 percent).

According to the Minister of Social Affairs, educational institutions such as People's Schools play a crucial role as the frontline in detecting and helping address social problems experienced by students.

Therefore, the central government, through the Ministry of Social Affairs, is committed to fully supporting regional initiatives that strengthen the function of schools as part of the social safety net.

This message underscores that addressing children's health issues cannot be separated from the broader effort to achieve comprehensive social welfare.
