inp.polri.go.id - Cirebon. The Vice Minister of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises of Indonesia, Helvi Yuni Moraza, encouraged universities in Cirebon, West Java, to play an active role in developing new, competitive, research-based entrepreneurs.

"Universities are our strategic partners in developing new entrepreneurs, especially to support MSMEs' growth and sustainability," she said after the Entrepreneur Hub 2025 event at Gunung Jati University (UGJ) in Cirebon, as reported by Antaranews on Wednesday (7/9/2025).

According to her, accelerating MSME development cannot be done sectorally but must involve universities as centers of knowledge and innovation.

She further explained that the Ministry of MSMEs has launched the Entrepreneur Hub program in Cirebon, which focuses on creating new entrepreneurs through collaboration with the educational sector.

Helvi stated that the role of universities is expected to produce research results, the economic value of which can be assessed and utilized to improve the welfare of the academic community.

She also stated that MSME development must be carried out collaboratively. Therefore, collaboration between universities, banks, licensing agencies, and market players needs to be strengthened.

In her statement, Helvi stated that she is optimistic that universities in Cirebon will be able to produce entrepreneurs who are not simply born out of necessity, but thrive on vision, knowledge, and innovative abilities.
