"This is good for the fishing sector, and I'm thinking about how fishermen's cooperatives can actually build these factories," he said on Saturday (9/28/24).

However, he notes that synergy is needed with the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries to build fish milk production.

Teten Masduki also said that building a fish milk factory requires a budget of almost IDR 20 billion. Where later the largest portion of funds will be used for the construction of factory infrastructure.

Of that amount, IDR 15 billion was allocated for buildings. Then IDR 3 billion was used for hydrolyzed protein extract equipment.

Although there are challenges in building the factory, he is optimistic that in the next three years, fish milk factories can be built in coastal areas. However, it must involve fishermen's cooperatives and sell fish milk at a more economical price.

Previously, the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (KKP) was still processing BPOM permits for fish milk products. Following, fish milk which is planned to be included in the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) program by President-elect Prabowo Subianto.

Fish milk is a fish protein extraction product. After being processed, it can then be processed into a kind of milk.
