inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Minister of Transportation Dudy Purwagandhi stated that his ministry, in collaboration with relevant parties, has prepared five sea crossing routes to streamline traffic between Java and Sumatra during the 2026 Eid al-Fitr holiday season.

According to Dudy, the five sea crossing routes are from Merak Port to Bakauheni Port, Ciwandan Port to PT Wijaya Karya Beton Port, and Ciwandan Port to Bakauheni Port.

"Then, from Bojonegoro Port to Muara Pilu Port, and from PT Krakatau Bandar Samudera Port to Panjang Port," Dudy said on Tuesday (2/17/2026).

The Minister also urged all operators to prepare services as implemented in previous years, specifically for the Christmas and New Year period, as well as Eid al-Fitr holiday season.

"This arrangement is expected to provide better service to the public. We have asked the BBJ Port to prepare 12 ships to transport large vehicles. Ciwandan Port has also prepared 12 ships to transport people crossing," explained the Minister of Transportation.

He explained that to improve the smooth flow of homecoming traffic during the 2026 Eid al-Fitr holiday, a towing system will also be implemented at Bakauheni Port, which is located at 10 points on the toll road and surrounding arterial roads.

"We aim to assist with all preparations we have to ensure a smooth crossing. The BBJ Bojonegara Port will serve large class VIII and IX trucks, Bakauheni Port is prepared for people without any vehicle diversions, and Krakatau Bandar Samudera Port is prepared as a contingency measure," he added.

Overall, for the 2026 Eid al-Fitr holiday, 829 ships with a capacity of 3.26 million passengers are available, and infrastructure is available at 636 seaports.
