inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Ministry of Manpower is providing a 50 percent reduction in contributions for the Work Accident Insurance (JKK) and Death Insurance (JKM) programs for Non-Wage Earners (BPU) participants.

Minister of Manpower Yassierli stated that this is a concrete step to maintain purchasing power while expanding employment social security coverage.

"Through this policy, the government is providing contribution relief so that more BPU workers can be protected, without reducing the benefits they receive," said Yassierli on Wednesday (4/29/2026).

He further stated that this policy also demonstrates the state's presence in ensuring workers remain protected amidst various economic challenges, while also encouraging increased participation in employment social security.

Yassierli explained that this contribution relief applies to BPU participants in various sectors, with certain provisions in accordance with regulations.

For the transportation sector, such as app-based service drivers, non-app drivers, and couriers, this policy is effective from January 2026 to March 2027. Meanwhile, for BPU participants outside the transportation sector, the contribution relief is valid from April to December 2026.

The Minister of Manpower emphasized that although contributions have been reduced, protection benefits will remain fully provided in accordance with program provisions. These benefits include JKK and JKM, as well as compensation and scholarships for participants and their families.

"We want to ensure that workers not only receive lower contributions but also continue to receive optimal protection," Yassierli said.

He hopes this policy will raise workers' awareness of the importance of employment social security while strengthening their economic resilience, particularly in the BPU sector.
