inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The government is ready to expand the digitalization trial of social assistance to 40 regencies/cities, a six-month process that will begin this week.

Social Affairs Minister Saifullah Yusuf stated that the digitalization expansion has been piloted in Banyuwangi Regency, East Java, and has been deemed successful in having a positive impact on social assistance governance.

The Ministry of Social Affairs reported that the digitalization of social assistance in Banyuwangi found that 77.7 percent of the data on the Family Hope Program (PKH) recipients fell into the exclusion error category, meaning individuals who were actually eligible to receive assistance but were not registered.

Meanwhile, after the data was measured using the National Socioeconomic Single Data (DTSEN), the targeting error rate (exclusion error) for PKH recipients in Banyuwangi was significantly reduced to 28.2 percent.

"The digitalization of social assistance is part of the digital transformation through the adoption of Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) and artificial intelligence (AI) to support national priority programs to strengthen governance," explained the Minister of Social Affairs on Tuesday (2/3/2026).

The Ministry of Social Affairs noted that digital mechanisms allow the public to directly participate in data updates through the objection feature and various channels, such as the SIKS-NG application, Cek Bansos, call centers, and text messaging services.

Minister Saifullah Yusuf confirmed that the digitalization of social assistance significantly simplifies the registration process for the public, while also reducing the potential for social conflict that often arises from unclear recipient determination.
