Inp.polri.go.id - Medan.  Indonesian Military (TNI) Commander General Agus Subiyanto led a rice harvest event in Deli Serdang, North Sumatra, on Thursday (10/7/2025), highlighting the military's support for President Prabowo Subianto’s “Asta Cita” national agenda. 

President Prabowo’s agenda underscores food self-sufficiency as a pillar of national resilience.

“This harvest is proof of our commitment to achieving food sovereignty, as envisioned in President Prabowo’s Asta Cita. A country that cannot meet its food needs is vulnerable to foreign influence,” said Commander Agus during the event, as quoted by antaranews.com

The TNI harvested 80 hectares of rice fields with a projected yield of 7 tons per hectare. The rice will be distributed to local nutrition centers in North Sumatra. Commander Agus also launched the delivery of 40 tons of rice aid to five districts.

The event emphasized the TNI’s dual role in defense and social resilience, particularly in supporting national food security through civilian cooperation and innovation.
