inp.polri.go.id - Sukoharjo. The alleged terrorist, dr. Sunardi, who was shot by the Special Detachment (Densus) 88 Counter-Terrorism Police, is revealed to be a doctor who is active in the Hilal Ahmar Society Indonesia (HASI) institution in the Sukoharjo area, Central Java. Friday (11/3/22). Those facts were confirmed by the Head of the Operational Assistance Section for Densus 88 Counter-Terrorism Police, Commissioner Aswin Azhar Siregar, S.I.K., M.Sc., M.sc.Eng., Ph, D. “It is true (regarding dr. Sunardi). The further explanation will be given by the Public Relations Division,” he said. Based on data from the National Police (Polri) released in 2015, the Central Jakarta District Court decided that HASI was included in the list of alleged terrorist organizations in Indonesia. The data was also published on the website of the Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Center (PPATK). There has been no response from HASI regarding this matter. HASI is number four on the entity list. The data clearly states that HASI is suspected of using the guise as a humanitarian foundation even though it is managed by Jamaah Islamiyah (JI). The HASI organization is spread across Indonesia such as Jakarta, Lampung, Semarang, Yogyakarta, Solo, Surabaya to Makassar. They are suspected of having helped fund the trip of foreign terrorist fighters (FTF) aka combatants to Syria. As written on the UN website, since 2011, HASI has been operating as a non-governmental organization (NGO) in Indonesia. HASI, like the JI terrorist group, is a network of organizations for charitable activities to be used as funds to support their acts of terrorism. "HASI's activities show how terrorist groups, such as JI, abuse charitable guise to collect and use it to support acts of violence and provide cover for logistical needs for their terrorist organizations," he explained. HASI has also been listed as a group affiliated with Al-Qaeda since March 13, 2015. In 2013, HASI was involved in many activities that supported the recruitment and terrorist acts of JI to Syria. The deployment of HASI to Syria is carried out routinely with JI members to conduct military training and join other groups in Syria. Several JI figures that HASI has supported in Syria include senior JI leader Bambang Sukirno and JI operator Angga Dimas Pershada. One of HASI's deployments to Syria was also recorded in May 2014. As a group that is also affiliated with the Al-Nusrah Ummah Front, HASI has participated in many fundraising activities with JI. In 2013, the group raised tens of thousands of dollars to carry out its campaign.
