inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The founder of Kontra Narasi, Sandri Rumanama, expressed his appreciation for the increasing level of public trust in the Indonesian National Police (INP) in mid-2026. He stated that this achievement demonstrates that the various reform measures undertaken by the police institution are beginning to receive public recognition.

Based on a national survey, public trust in INP reached 82.4 percent. This figure represents an increase compared to the 2025 survey, which stood at 76.2 percent.

"This increase in public trust shows that the public is beginning to feel the changes taking place within INP. This is an achievement worthy of appreciation," Sandri said.

He believes that public trust is the main asset for INP to continue strengthening professionalism in carrying out its duties and improving the quality of service and equitable law enforcement.

He also observed a change in the work culture within INP, which now prioritizes a more humanistic approach in interacting with the public. Sandri stated that they prioritized persuasive approach in resolving various problems in the field.

"Law enforcement today is no longer synonymous with a rigid approach. The police now prioritize solutions, communication, and a presence that provides a sense of security. The public also feels that the police are now closer, warmer, and more responsive to every complaint," he said.

Furthermore, Sandri assessed that this change is not only visible at the central level but also felt down to the lowest ranks.

"They are there when the community needs them. This concrete work in the field is the foundation for increasing public trust in the National Police," Sandri concluded.
