inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Up to 140 personnel of Formed Police Unit (FPU) 7 in the UN Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in the Central African Republic (MINUSCA) successfully completed their one-year assignment without any significant incident.
While serving in the assigned county, police personnel were required to maintain vigilance, face extreme weather, and secure the general election stages marked by increasing political tensions.
The Head of FPU 7 MINUSCA Task Force, Senior Superintendent Norhayat, said that the security situation is one of the main challenges during the peacekeeping mission. All personnel must always be ready to face various possibilities in the assigned area.
“The challenges are mainly related to the security situation as it is a conflict area, we have to remain vigilant. We must be ready to face anything that happens, but thank God there have been no significant incidents during our mission,” he said.
In addition to security threats, the weather conditions that are different from those in Indonesia also test the personnel’s preparation. He revealed that rainstorms and extreme weather were quite a challenge during his assignment in Central Africa.
Another challenge arose when the task force carried out security duties during the general election. Rising political tensions in areas still facing conflict required personnel to remain professional and adhere to their mission mandate, especially in providing protection to civilians.
“The elections in Central Africa seem not much different from ours. As it is, the elections lead to rising political tensions, especially in conflict areas,” explained Norhayat.
FPU 7 MINUSCA Task Force is a police contingent assigned to the United Nations (UN) peacekeeping mission in the Central African Republic. A total of 140 personnel departed on October 10, 2025, to carry out a one-year mission.
After completing the assignment, all personnel have returned to Indonesia. For their dedication in the mission, President Prabowo Subianto awarded the Satyalancana Bhakti Buana honorary medal to members of FPU 7 MINUSCA Task Force.
