According to saberhoaks.jabarprov.go.id, searches using the keywords “Wajib Militer Khusus Rakyat Papua” found no credible media reports supporting the claim. Minister Pigai’s recent public statements, including those reported by Antara and Kompas news websites, addressed unrelated issues such as film screenings and food poisoning cases, not military service.

“This information prioritizes speed, but after verification, no evidence supports the claim of a Papua-only draft,” the clarification noted on Friday (5/6/2026)
