Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. A viral post on Facebook alleged that President Prabowo Subianto said selling Papua’s forests was key to sustaining the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) program. The claim, circulated on 8 June 2026, has been confirmed false.
According to fact-check site Turnbackhoax.id, searches for the phrase “Prabowo: selling Papua forests is the key to MBG” led to unrelated reports. Detik.com covered an event where elementary students in West Papua directly asked President Prabowo about MBG during the inauguration of 1,179 Indonesian National Police (INP) Nutritious Service Units (SPPG) kitchens.
Meanwhile, Kumparan.com reported that Prabowo aims to have 2,500 SPPG units operating in Papua by 17 August 2026. No credible source supports the claim about forest sales. Authorities urge the public to verify information before sharing to prevent the spread of misinformation.
