Inp.polri.go.id - Makassar. The South Sulawesi Regional Police destroyed illicit narcotics seized from drug operations conducted between January and June 2026 at their regional headquarters in Makassar on Wednesday (10/6/2026). 

The confiscated evidence originated from prominent cases linked to international smuggling networks routing drugs from Malaysia into South Sulawesi via sea lanes.

"The destruction of this evidence is a tangible manifestation of the commitment of the Indonesian National Police, particularly the South Sulawesi Regional Police, to eradicate illicit drug trafficking," said South Sulawesi Police Chief Inspector General Polisi Djuhandhani Rahardjo Puro.

The Directorate of Drug Investigation highlighted complex emerging trends, such as synthetic liquid narcotics integrated into vape liquids, including substances mixed with etomidate targeting local youths. Chief Djuhamdhani emphasized their ongoing collaborative stance to intercept and dismantle these evolving supply channels.

Authorities continue to map cross-border syndicates to strengthen maritime border security and prevent further narcotics distribution across the province.
