Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. A viral Facebook post claiming that 28 engineering students from Hasanuddin University (Unhas) in Makassar, South Sulawesi, were threatened with drop-out sanctions after staging a protest has been declared a hoax. 

The social media rumor alleged the university penalized the students for criticizing the national Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) program and the planned construction of a Nutrition Fulfillment Service Unit (SPPG)  kitchen on campus.

A fact-check verification reveals that the information is completely false. Cross-referencing digital data through turnbackhoax.id and an official report by detik.com titled "Unhas Bantah Isu DO-Skorsing Mahasiswa gegara Kritik MBG: Hoaks" confirms that university officials have formally denied issuing any punitive academic sanctions.

The official Hasanuddin University management said that no suspension or drop-out threats were leveraged against the students involved in the campus demonstration on 11 June 2026. The Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs ) urges netizens to stay vigilant against disinformation targeting educational institutions and public policy programs.
