Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. A viral Facebook post claiming that Minister of Finance Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa announced an Rp85 million government assistance program, contingent on paying a Rp100,000 "signature fee", was officially debunked as a hoax.
The misleading post features a video clip intended to trick citizens into transferring administrative fees to scammers.
A digital forensic analysis tracked the source material back to an authentic iNews YouTube broadcast originally aired on 8 October 2025. In the original footage, Minister Purbaya was discussing market dynamics surrounding imported textiles and Muslim fashion, making absolutely no mention of public cash grants or payout approvals.
The Ministry of Communications and Digital Affairs confirmed that the audio tracks in the circulating viral video were entirely manipulated using artificial intelligence (AI) voice-cloning technology. Authorities warned the public to disregard these deepfake schemes, reiterating that legitimate government financial programs never demand upfront processing fees via social media channels.
