The deceptive messaging directs citizens to click an external link and download an application to instantly activate their state-issued digital credentials.

A digital verification by Turnbackhoax.id on Monday (6/7/2026) exposed that the distributed hyperlink is completely unaffiliated with official government portals. Security experts warned that the URL prompts users to download an unknown application from outside the secure Google Play Store, utilizing a tactical format frequently deployed for personal data theft, financial fraud, and device mirroring.

The Directorate General of Population and Civil Registry)clarified that legitimate IKD activation is strictly processed through official applications hosted on the Google Play Store or Apple App Store. The state agency reiterated that official registration must be finalized through verified civil registry offices, completely free of charge.
