Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian has issued a circular on budget efficiency for regional administrations across the country.
The directive No. 900/833/SJ on Adjusting Regional Revenue and Budget Efficiency for the 2025 Regional Budget was issued on 23 February 2025.
“This is entirely for pro-people programs—repairing damaged schools, improving sanitation facilities, and standardizing community health centers,” Minister Tito said in a statement released on Monday (24/2/2025), as quoted by antaranews.com.
The circular mandates a 50% reduction in travel expenses and cuts to ceremonial events, studies, publications, and seminars. Funds saved will be redirected toward education, healthcare, infrastructure, food security, and inflation control.
Regional administrations are urged to prioritize essential spending aligned with national growth targets of 8%. Tito also called on local legislative councils (DPRD) and the public to monitor budget implementation to ensure accountability and effective use for public welfare.
