inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Secretary General of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Tomsi Tohir instructed all regional governments in Indonesia to accelerate the provision of land to support the implementation of the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) program.
This follows the direction of the Minister of Home Affairs Muhammad Tito Karnavian and the Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) Dadan Hindayana two weeks ago, who asked regional governments to submit a maximum of 10 options for land locations that will be used as nutritional fulfillment service units (SPPG) or MBG public kitchens.
Tomsi argued that accelerating data collection was important so that the implementation of the MBG program in various regions could run immediately.
It was explained that a maximum limit of 10 locations was for options. For example, if one location is not possible, there are still other alternatives available. This is also to anticipate changes and budget adjustments.
Tomsi views the availability of land as important, especially in the 3T (remote, frontier, and outermost) areas.
The government is targeting 1,542 kitchens to be established by August. These kitchens will be places to cook and distribute MBG for school children.
The location of the kitchens is attempted to be as close as possible to schools.
