inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Ogan Komering Ilir (OKI) Sub-regional Police, arrested a man suspected of assembling and storing illegal firearms in Berkat Village, SP Padang District, OKI Regency, during the 2026 Musi Senpi Operation.
OKI Sub-regional Police Chief, Superintendent Eko Rubiyanto, stated that the case was uncovered based on information from the public regarding homemade firearms manufacturing in the area.
Following up on the report, the Operational Team from the General Crimes Unit conducted an investigation and raided the suspect's home on Monday at around 6:00 a.m.
"During the operation, officers arrested a man with the initials N (60) suspected of illegally producing homemade firearms at his residence," he said in a written statement, on Tuesday (6/23/2026).
Initial questioning revealed that the suspect admitted that all the firearms recovered were his own making.
Police then confiscated several pieces of evidence, including two long-barreled homemade firearms with wooden handles, one short-barreled homemade revolver, six rounds of ammunition of various calibers, one bullet casing, two Molotov cocktail bottles, a slingshot and eight arrows, and two grinders suspected of being used to assemble firearms.
For his actions, the suspect was charged under Article 306 of Law Number 1 of 2023 concerning the Criminal Code concerning unauthorized possession, manufacture, storage, and possession of firearms and ammunition.
