Inp.polri.go.id - Tangerang. Minister of Protection for Indonesian Migrant Workers Abdul Kadir Karding, revealed on Saturday (15/3/2025) that around 70% of undocumented Indonesian migrant workers  in the Middle East are women.

"Even among those who go abroad through legal procedures, 80% are domestic workers, and of that number, 70% are women," he said during a press conference, as quoted by antaranews.com.

Minister Abdul Kadir emphasized that most issues faced by Indonesian migrant workers abroad involve women, who also dominate illegal departures.

To address this, the government is closely monitoring the situation and coordinating with law enforcement agencies, including the police, intelligence agencies, military, and immigration. A special task force has been established to protect migrant workers and combat human trafficking.

Saudi Arabian authorities have deported 1,206 undocumented Indonesian migrant workers. So far, 545 have returned home, with 468 more awaiting repatriation.
