Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. South Jakarta Metropolitan Police reported that illegal parking topped the list of the traffic violations during Operation Zebra Jaya 2023 in the city.
Among the traffic violations, the most frequent were 50 illegal parking instances, 46 riders going against the traffic, 35 cases of riders without standardized helmets and four lane-marking violations.
In addition, there were 143 electronic traffic ticketing (E-TLE) actions, 1,826 warnings, 1,933 educational activities, and 2,472 instances of banner installations and brochure distribution.
Senior Superintendent Ade Ary Syam, Chief of South Jakarta Metropolitan Police, said that Operation Zebra, spanning 14 days from September 18, 2023, culminated on Sunday (1/10/2023). Officers combined education, prevention, and enforcement measures as a last resort.
"Security, safety, order, and smooth traffic flow are collective responsibilities not only during operations, but at all times, whether there are officers present or not," he said.
Chief Ade expressed hope that Operation Zebra Jaya would foster better discipline among the public while driving, saying that educational, preventive, and enforcement efforts will continue despite the conclusion of the Operation Zebra Jaya 2023.
