Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Directorate General of Immigration has taken firm action against 196 foreign citizens for violating the country’s immigration laws during “Operation Wirawaspada” held from 3 to 5 October 2025 across the Greater Jakarta area.
The majority of cases involved misuse of residence permits (99), overstaying (20), fake investors (11), and fictitious sponsors (9).
“Immigration enforcement ensures that only qualified foreigners can live and work in Indonesia. We will not tolerate those who exploit loopholes or threaten public order and national sovereignty,” said Acting Immigration Director General Yuldi Yusman on Wednesday (8/10/2025), as quoted by antaranews.com.
Foreigners from Nigeria topped the list with 82 cases, followed by India (28) and Spain (21). Of the 229 foreigners initially detained, 196 were confirmed to have committed immigration violations.
Authorities also uncovered 12 problematic foreign investment companies in Batam and revoked 267 business permits in Bali. The government has vowed to intensify immigration surveillance nationwide.
