inp.polri.go.id - Serang. The Banten Regional Police succeeded in revealing the achievements of the prosecution of corruption crimes during 2021. The Banten Regional Police have determined eight cases that have been completed and are dominated by abuse of village fund authority.
Banten Regional Police Chief, Pol. Inspector-General Rudy Heriyanto said 13 reports related to alleged corruption cases in 2021. However, of that number, only eight have been completed, and five other cases are still under investigation.
"Banten Police have processed 13 police reports related to corruption cases in 2021, 8 of which have been declared perfect and are in the trial process. Meanwhile, five other cases are still under investigation. I appreciate the performance of the Criminal and Investigation in Regional Police and its ranks in taking action against corruptors in Banten," said The Two-Star General, Thursday (12/09/21).
The Banten Regional Police have disclosed three cases of corruption. Such as the case of illegal levies on the public service sector at the Lebak's National Land Agency Office through hand arrest operations.
From the suspect's hands, investigators confiscated cash worth IDR 36 million, which was additional funds to expedite processing certificates of ownership of land parcels.
"Even during a search of the suspect's office, investigators again found several envelopes containing funds," said Pol. Inspector-General Rudy Heriyanto.
In addition, the Banten Regional Police's Directorate of Special Criminal Investigation has also arrested the leadership of PT. The Indonesian Classification Bureau (BKI) Cilegon Branch, a State Company for the corruption case in constructing Fictitious Concrete Construction worth IDR 4,894,400,213.
"Currently, investigators from the Banten Regional Police's Directorate of Special Criminal Investigation are focusing on investigating criminal acts of corruption in land acquisition within the Environmental Service of Serang Regency, which is indicated by mark-ups with a fairly large state loss value," explained the Banten Regional Police Chief.
In a different place, the Head of Public Relations of the Banten Regional Police, Pol. Grand Commissioner Shinto Silitonga said that the ranks of the Regional Police also carried out the disclosure of corruption cases.
At the Tangerang Resort Departemental Police, there were disclosures of 5 cases of corruption in village funds carried out by the former Pekayon Village Head and the former Buaran Jati Village Head, against village funds in 2016 and 2018, respectively.
"Investigators have named five suspects in the case of corruption in village funds in Tangerang, 3 of which have been declared perfect in August 2021, and 2 others are still in the process of being investigated. As a result of this criminal act of corruption, the state has lost more than IDR 1 billion," said Pol. Grand Commissioner Shinto Silitonga.
Then on October 21, 2021, the former Head of Kepandean Village was arrested by the Serang Police for committing a criminal act of corruption in village funds from 2012 to 2018.
Of the total IDR 695 million that was corrupted, the suspect used the dominant funds to finance his marriage with his second and third wives.
"The arrest of the former Head of Pandean Village is one of 4 cases revealed by the Serang Police in 2021 with a total state financial loss of more than IDR 1.2 billion," explained the Head of Public Relations of the Banten Regional Police.
Meanwhile, Pandeglang Resort Police managed to arrest the former Sodong Village Head and his son, who was suspected of committing a criminal act of corruption in village funds worth IDR 501,134,664.
Furthermore, on November 30, 2021, the Lebak Police also took action against the former Head of Pasindangan Village for not distributing Cash Direct Assistance funds which were the rights of 100 beneficiary families or Community Empowerment Cadres.
"The suspect used the Cash Direct Assistance funds that should have been channelled to Community Empowerment Cadres for the benefit of the last Village Chief Election contestation," he explained.
Following the results of the evaluation of the performance of prosecution of corruption cases throughout 2021, the Banten Regional Police have named 15 suspects in corruption cases that resulted in state financial losses of IDR 8,496,311,786.
