inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Central Information Commission (KIP) emphasized that information transparency is the main foundation for realizing good governance.

Furthermore, public information transparency is also one way to prevent corruption in Indonesia.

"As we know, information transparency is the main foundation for upholding good governance and quality public services. This also serves as a safeguard against corruption throughout the country," KIP Commissioner Samrotunnajah Ismail said on Thursday (9/25/2025).

While delivering a speech at the 2025 Public Information Openness Index (IKIP) Workshop, he explained that 2025 would be the fifth year of IKIP as a strategic instrument in measuring the implementation of the Public Information Openness Law in 34 provinces.

He further revealed that the workshop also explored strategic issues that pose challenges and opportunities for information openness.

"The IKIP results show encouraging improvement, although they remain in the moderate category, with a 2024 score of 75.65. We will discuss the digital literacy gap for vulnerable groups and those living in the remote areas. We will also discuss freedom of expression, legal restrictions, and the relationship to information disclosure," he explained.

Meanwhile, Puskaha Executive Director Yenti Nurhidayat emphasized that public information is a public right that must be provided by public bodies.

She stated that state officials have a responsibility to ensure that information disclosure is carried out in accordance with the mandate of the law.
