Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Indonesia has been selected to host the World Abilitysport Games 2025, following the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with World Abilitysport in Paris on Friday (30/8/2024).

World Abilitysport President Rudi van den Abbeele expressed confidence in Indonesia's ability to host the event. 

“Indonesia is new to the Paralympic scene but has shown rapid progress. We are confident in its ability to host the 2025 World Abilitysport Games,” he said, as quoted by antaranews.com..

The World Abilitysport Games, previously the IWAS World Games, has evolved into a more inclusive multi-sport event. Indonesia's track record in hosting disability sports events contributed to its selection as the host.

Aninspection of Jakarta’s sports venues in July 2024 reinforced this decision. 

World Abilitysport CEO Charmaine Hooper anticipates participation from at least 60 countries and is optimistic about the event's success.
