Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Minister of Foreign Affairs Sugiono has said that Indonesia’s diplomatic "compass" remains locked on the Two-State Solution as the only viable path to a sovereign and independent Palestine.
Speaking at the House of Representatives (DPR) Building on Tuesday (27/1/2026), the Minister addressed recent public discourse, emphasizing that Indonesia is pursuing "tactical steps" to realize this long-standing foreign policy goal.
"Indonesia remains steadfast in its desire for Palestinian independence and sovereignty," Minister Sugiono declared, as cited by antaranews.com..
His statement clarifies the context of a viral video featuring President Prabowo Subianto, suggesting that regional peace requires a framework where the security of all parties is considered within a just resolution.
Minister Sugiono said that A key part of this tactical approach is Indonesia's participation in the newly formed U.S.-initated Board of Peace (BOP), established in Davos.
The Foreign Ministry views the BOP as a temporary but concrete mechanism to halt violence and protect civilians in Gaza. While permanent membership in the BOP is granted to nations contributing over $1 billion (Rp 16.7 trillion), Indonesia has joined as an invited member for a three-year term.
