Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Indonesia has extradited Philippine fugitive Hector Aldwin Pantollana, arrested in Bali, as part of a prisoner exchange deal involving Indonesian online gambling suspect Handoyo Salman.
“Pantonalla’s extradition follows the agreement to repatriate Handoyo Salman, an Indonesian fugitive involved in online gambling,” said Brigadier General Untung Widyatmoko, the Secretary of NCB-Interpol Indonesia, during a press conference at the Directorate General of Immigration in Jakarta on Tuesday (26/11/2024).
Pantonella, wanted by Philippine authorities for casino scamming, was arrested at Bali's Ngurah Rai International Airport on 9 November 2024. He is scheduled to be sent back to the Philippines on Wednesday to face legal proceedings, according to antaranews.com.
Meanwhile, Handoyo, accused of operating as a regional manager for the W88 online gambling platform, was returned to Indonesia on 22 November 2024 via Soekarno-Hatta International Airport.
According to Senior Superintendentl Jeffri Dian Juniarta of the Indoensian National Police (INP)’s Cyber Crime Directorate, Handoyo facilitated deposits and withdrawals for Indonesian users of the illegal platform.
“We continue pursuing fugitives globally, especially those involved in high-profile online gambling cases,” Chief Untung added.
