Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta.  Indonesia's U-23 national team made history by securing a spot in the 2024 U-23 Asian Cup semifinals after a dramatic penalty shootout victory against South Korea early Friday morning (26/4/2024).

The match, held at Doha's Abdullah bin Khalifa Stadium, saw both teams deadlocked at 2-2 after 120 minutes of play, leading to a tense penalty shootout to determine the winner.

Playing with confidence, Indonesia took the lead in the 15th minute through Rafael Struick's stunning strike. South Korea leveled the score before halftime, but he restored Indonesia's lead just before the break.

Despite numerous chances in the second half and extra time, neither team could break the deadlock, leading to penalties.

In the nail-biting shootout, both teams' executioners performed admirably. Indonesia eventually secured victory when Pratama Arhan's decisive penalty found the net, sending them into the semifinals.
