Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police (INP)'s International Relations Division has issued red notices for two suspects involved in human trafficking disguised as internships in Germany, known as ferienjob.

Brigadier General Trunoyudo Wisnu Andiko, the INP Public Relations Division Head of Public Information, said that he suspects, identified as ER alias EW (39) and AE (37), are among five people implicated in the case.

They are residing in Germany and were previously declared wanted for evading investigation summons.

This human trafficking scheme came to light after four students reported exploitation to the Indonesian Embassy in Germany. Investigations revealed that 33 Indonesian universities participated, sending 1,047 students abroad.

Students were misled by PT CVGEN and PT SHB, paying fees for a letter of acceptance and other documents. Upon arrival in Germany, they were presented with employment contracts and charged advance fees of Rp30-50 million, deducted from their wages.

The scheme promised to convert the internship into academic credits and was pitched as part of the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) program. However, it was rejected by the Ministry of Education and Culture due to calendar conflicts.
