Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Minister of Foreign Affairs Sugiono underscored Indonesia’s commitment to supporting the ASEAN Community Vision 2045 during the ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ Retreat in Langkawi, Malaysia.
“Indonesia fully backs the ASEAN Community Vision 2045, which will be formalized under Malaysia’s chairmanship. This vision is vital to shaping a resilient, dynamic, and sustainable ASEAN over the next two decades,” he said, as cited in an official release on Sunday (19/1/2025).
The minister noted that the vision aligns with President Prabowo Subianto’s Asta Cita priorities, emphasizing inclusive and sustainable development for all ASEAN citizens. To achieve this, he stressed strengthening ASEAN institutions and resources to address interconnected global challenges effectively.
Minister Sugiono called for ASEAN unity amid rising geopolitical tensions. He advocated strengthening ASEAN mechanisms and upholding principles such as the Treaty of Amity and Cooperation.
Regarding Myanmar, he urged intensified ASEAN efforts to resolve the crisis and fully implement the Five-Point Consensus.
