Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in partnership with the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) and the National Alms Agency (Baznas), has launched a humanitarian campaign targeting US$200 million for Palestine.
“We hope this fundraising program can generate around US$200 million for Palestine,” said Deputy Foreign Affairs Minister Anis Matta at the launch event on Wednesday (26/2/2025), as quoted by antaranews.com.
The campaign begins during Ramadan, focusing on emergency humanitarian assistance during the ceasefire and Gaza’s long-term reconstruction.
Deputy Minister Anis outlined three core objectives: implementing strategic programs, ensuring impactful initiatives that benefit Palestinians, and symbolically showcasing Indonesia’s role as the largest Muslim-majority nation.
MUI’s Head of Foreign Relations, Sudarnoto Abdul Hakim, emphasized the need for international cooperation in Gaza’s reconstruction.
Baznas disclosed that it has already collected over Rp3 20 billion (US$19 million), with Rp 200 billion (US$12 million) allocated for education, hospital development, and housing projects in Gaza.
