Inp.polri.go.id – Jakarta. Ministry of Defense Prabowo Subianto and his counterpart from Malaysia Da’to Seri Utama Haji Mohamad bin Haji Hasan agrees to a coordinated patrol in border areas to prevent cross-border crime.
Patrols with the Indonesian Military Force (TNI) and Malaysian Military Force (ATM) in border areas becomes one of the achievements announce at 43rd General Border Committee Malaysia-Indonesia (GBC Malindo) in Jakarta on Thursday (10/12/2023).
“One of the achievements that must be highlighted are the success in patrol mobilizing between agencies of the two countries through patrol coordinated mechanism. The steps were taken to combat cross-border crimes that threaten security and stability in border areas," said Minister of Defense Prabowo, Thursday (12/10/23).
In the press conference, Malaysian Defense Minister states the two states also agree to continue their cooperation that has been established in the 43rd GBC Malindo, including joint patrol in border areas.
“The GBC Malindo collaboration must be continued to overcome many issues regarding safety, security, and the establishment of socio-economy in border areas,” says Mohamad.
He also assessed that cooperation in border areas between the two states becomes the proof of strong relations between Indonesia and Malaysia.
“This fives a huge benefit for the two states in safety and security sector,” assessed Mohamad.
Therefore, he then announced that the 44th GBC Malindo would be held again in 2024 in Malaysia.
