Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno and Palestinian Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Hani Naji Atallah Abdalmasih signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance and promote tourism between the two nations on Wednesday evening (4/9/2024)

The agreement focuses on various aspects of tourism collaboration, including information exchange, technology, best practices, and student exchange programs in the tourism sector.

"This MoU is a significant step forward in our efforts to foster mutual tourism growth. Palestine has rich religious sites that Indonesian tourists are eager to explore, and we hope to see more Palestinian visitors attracted to our world-renowned destinations like Borobudur," said Minister Sandiaga, as quoted by antaranews.com.

He highlighted the potential for cooperation, noting that Palestinian tourists are expected to visit Borobudur, the world's oldest Buddhist temple, which is anticipated to attract interest from Palestine.

The MoU also aims to increase Indonesian tourists to Palestine, with a target of 100,000 visitors. Palestinian tourism has been limited due to the current situation, but there is significant potential for growth in creative economy sectors.
