Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Indonesia swept the men’s and women’s doubles titles at the Australian Open 2025 in Sydney on Sunday (23/11/2025), with two all-Indonesian finals marking a dominant performance by the national badminton squad.
“This is a proud moment as both our men’s and women’s doubles players met in all-Indonesian finals and secured the titles,” the Indonesian Badminton Association (PBSI) commented following the victories, as cited by antaranews.com.
In men’s doubles, rising pair Raymond Indra/Nikolaus Joaquin stunned senior teammates Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Shohibul Fikri in a tight three-game battle, winning 22-20, 10-21, 21-18. After dropping the second game, Raymond/Nikolaus held firm in a tense decider to clinch their first major Super 500 title.
In the women’s event, Rachel Allessya Rose/Febi Setianingrum overcame fellow Indonesian Febriana Dwipuji Kusuma/Meilsya Trias Puspitasari with a dramatic comeback 18-21, 21-19, 23-21, showing resilience against early setbacks. The victory marked Rachel/Febi’s first Australian Open title and solidified Indonesia’s growing depth in doubles.
