Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Indonesia has won the Council President Certificate from the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) for its achievement in strengthening civil aviation security oversight.
The award was presented by ICAO President Salvatore Sciacchitano during the opening of the 42nd ICAO General Assembly in Montreal, Canada, on 23 September 2025.
“This recognition is granted based on Indonesia’s achievement in raising its aviation security oversight, reflected in the ICAO audit score of 88.53 percent, well above the Global Aviation Security Plan target of 75 percent,” said Lukman F. Laisa, Director General of Civil Aviation at Indonesia’s Ministry of Transportation, on Thursday (25/9/2025), as reported by antaranews.com.
The award, also given to Angola, Cameroon, Togo, Oman, Bahrain, Kuwait, and Moldova.
Officials pledged to strengthen national regulations, monitoring systems, and international cooperation to maintain its position as a trusted aviation partner.
