Indonesia Wins Three Gold Medals at Para-Badminton World Championship

Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta.Indonesia's para-badminton contingent won three gold medals at the NSDF Royal Beach Cliff BWF Para-Badminton World Championship 2024. In an official statement released by NPC on Monday (26/2/2024), Indonesia's para-badminton team brought home three world championship titles from the event held at the Pattaya Exhibition and Convention Hall, Thailand, spanning from February 20th to 25th, 2024. Featuring 350 participants across 22 events, the championship witnessed Indonesia, represented by 11 contingents, achieve a remarkable feat with three golds, five silvers, and one bronze. "We are grateful to have participated in this major tournament and to have brought home the gold medal for Indonesia," said Fredy Setiawan, one of the medalists. One of the gold medals was contributed by the duo Dwiyoko and Fredy Setiawan. In the final match, they defeated the Thai pair Mongkhon Bunsun and Siripong Teamarrom in straight games. The second gold medal was won by Leani Ratri Oktila and Hikmat Ramdani, who emerged victorious against fellow Indonesians. Indonesia's tally of world championship titles increased to three after Leani Ratri Oktila and Khalimatus Sadiyah defeated the Indian pair Manasi Girishchandra Joshi/Thulasimathi Murugasen in the Women's Doubles SL3-SU5 category.
