Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta.  The Indonesian Army has begun mobilizing personnel for the potential deployment of a "Board of Peace" peacekeeping mission to global conflict zones, specifically Gaza.

Following a leadership meeting with President Prabowo Subianto at the Presidential Palace on Monday (9/2/2026), Army Chief of Staff General Maruli Simanjuntak confirmed that the military is currently awaiting final coordination and formal directives regarding the specific personnel requirements for the mission.

"We are waiting for the results from the coordinators in Gaza; once requested by the Indonesian Military Headquarters, we will prepare personnel with the necessary characteristics," Chief Maruli explained, as quoted by antaranews.com.

While final figures remain under negotiation, the Army is preparing a force that could reach the strength of a full brigade, estimated between 5,000 and 8,000 personnel. The mission will prioritize specialized units, including medical teams and peacekeepers characterized by high professional integrity.

Although the exact deployment timeline remains unconfirmed, the Army is focusing on internal preparation to ensure troops are prepared as soon as the mandate is finalized by Indonesian Military Headquarters and international coordinators.
