Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police (INP) has issued the INP Chief Regulation (Perkap) No. 4 of 2025, providing detailed guidance for officers responding to attacks on police personnel and facilities.
“This regulation offers a normative framework for officers facing threats that could endanger lives, damage property, or disrupt public order,” said Senior Superintendent Erdi A. Chaniago, the INP Public Relations Division Head of Public Information Section, on Wednesday (1/10/2025), as quoted by antaranews.com.
The regulation covers attacks on police headquarters, barracks, residences, training centers, and police hospitals or clinics. It outlines graduated responses, including warnings, arrests, searches, securing evidence, and proportional use of firearms. Firearms may be deployed when attackers forcibly enter police premises, commit acts like arson, theft, assault, or pose imminent threats to life. Both rubber and live ammunition issued to Polri officers are permitted under the regulation.
Chief Erdi emphasized that the regulation is preventive and anticipatory, ensuring officers act firmly, measuredly, and within legal limits while prioritizing the safety of personnel and the public.
