Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Arif Havas Oegroseno said that Indonesia has strong assets to face today’s complex global geopolitical challenges, rooted in its free-active foreign policy and historical resilience.

Speaking at a guest lecture at Universitas Indonesia’s International Relations Department on Monday (25/5/2026), he noted that Indonesia’s ability to maintain national development amid past geopolitical conflicts proves its readiness for today’s dynamic world.

“Indonesia is far more prepared today, with stronger resources, better economic capacity, and advancing technology,” he said, as reported by antaranews.com

He recalled Indonesia’s diplomatic resilience during the Cold War and its recovery from the 1998 economic crisis as evidence of national strength.

Deputy Minister Havas stressed that Indonesia’s greatest power lies in its resilience, which is the ability to withstand crises, maintain unity in diversity, and emerge stronger. He also highlighted the importance of academic support in shaping Indonesia’s approach to global issues.
