inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Head of the Indonesian National Police (INP) Public Relations Division, Inspector General Sandi Nugroho, said that INP had completed 3,326 cases of thuggery in simultaneous police  operations throughout Indonesia that began on May 1, 2025.

In his statement, Sandi stated that there were several prominent cases, including the Subang Sub-regional Police securing nine perpetrators of thuggery in the industrial area, the Tangerang Sub-regional Police arresting 85 thugs, and the Central Kalimantan Regional Police summoning the Head of GRIB Central Kalimantan regarding the closure of PT Bumi Asri Pasaman (BAP).

He said that the disclosure of a number of thuggery cases was a real form of INP's commitment to maintaining public security and order and supporting national economic growth.

"We will not tolerate acts of intimidation, extortion, or violence carried out by individuals or groups under the guise of community organizations," he said.

Enforcement is focused on various forms of crime, such as extortion, threats, destruction of public facilities, mob violence, assault, incitement, defamation, spreading fake news and hate speech, and kidnapping.

INP has also taken a number of strategic steps, including conducting investigations and enforcing the law against mass organizations  proven to have committed crimes, conducting raids on extortion and thuggery practices, checking the legality of the mass organizations involved, and providing recommendations to stakeholders regarding the freezing or cancellation of permits for mass organizations proven to have committed crimes.
