inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police (INP) has confirmed its commitment to handling the problem of thuggery in the country until it is resolved.
Inspector General Supervision of INP, Commissioner General Dedi Prasetyo said that police personnel from the will not stop working to prevent and handle the problem of thuggery.
"Systematic operations will continue to be strengthened in order to create a sustainable security ecosystem according to the expectations of the community," said Dedi in Jakarta, quoted from Antaranews, Friday (5/30/2025).
In this operation, police will ensure public safety as the highest principle with the involvement of all police ranks from the central HQ to the smallest police station in scientific-based crime prevention, and consistent law enforcement that is just and proportional.
Dedi also expressed his gratitude to the personnel who have dedicated themselves to combating thuggery.
"Thank you to the field officers who work with full dedication, prioritizing the safety of citizens and upholding human rights in every operation to eradicate thuggery," he said.
It is worth to note that INP has been holding simultaneous regional police operations since May 1, 2025 in order to eradicate acts of thuggery.
This operation was carried out based on the Chief of Police's Telegram Letter Number STR/1081/IV/OPS.1.3./2025 which ordered all ranks of the regional police to enforce the law supported by intelligence, preemptive, and preventive measures.
The types of crimes that are the focus of the action include extortion, threats, intimidation, ganging up, and assault carried out by individuals or groups.
