Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police (INP) and the Indonesian Food and Drug Agency (BPOM) signed a strategic joint initiative to strengthen supervision and enforcement over controlled prescription medicines, illegal cosmetics, and public food distribution in Jakarta on Monday (2/1/2026).
The collaboration was formalized during a high-level meeting between INP Chief General Suyudi Ario Seto and BPOM Head Taruna Ikrar at the INP Headquarters in Jakarta.
"We are committed to strengthening our cooperation through real-time information exchange, stricter monitoring, and equitable law enforcement," said Chief Suyudi.
The inter-agency partnership will focus on strict supervision of controlled pharmaceuticals such as Tramadol and Hexamine, illegal vape liquid adulterations, and Kratom plants, as reported by antaranews.com.
Furthermore, BPOM and the iNP will co-supervise food and medical supplies sold through the Red and White Village Cooperative (KDMP) and Apotek Merah Putih pharmacies under Presidential Regulation No. 82 of 2026, while combining digital capabilities to combat illegal online drug sales.
