Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta.  The Indonesian National Police (INP) announced the arrest of 3,195 people allegedly involved in violent protests across multiple provinces, which prompted President Prabowo Subianto to instruct security forces to take firm action against escalating riots.

“For now, 387 people have been released, 55 named suspects, and 2,753 remain under investigation,” said Brigadier General Trunoyudo Wisnu Andiko, the INP Public Relations Division Head of Public Information Bureauduring a press conference in Jakarta on Monday (1/9/2025), as quoted by antaranews.com.

The highest number of arrests occurred in Jakarta with 1,240 detainees, followed by East Java (709), Central Java (653), and West Java (147). Other provinces reporting arrests include Bali (138), West Kalimantan (91), South Sumatra (63), Yogyakarta (60), and North Sumatra (50). Smaller numbers were reported in Jambi, Banten, Sulawesi, Papua, and West Nusa Tenggara.

The government has vowed continued enforcement measures as security operations remain active in areas affected by unrest.
