Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police (INP) have arrested four Aceh residents linked to an international drug syndicate, seizing 135 kilograms of methamphetamine smuggled from Thailand.
The arrests, conducted on 7 and 8 February 2025, were led by the INP Criminal Investigation Agency’’s Narcotics Crime Directorate and supported by Aceh Regional Police and Customs Office.
The suspects, identified by initials I, F, E, and M, played distinct roles in the smuggling operation.
“Suspect I was the mastermind, suspect F retrieved the drugs on land, suspect E handled transport by sea, and suspect M picked up the shipment in Thailand,” said Brigadier General Mukti Juharsa, the Narcotics Crime Director, on Tuesday (11/2/2025).
Authorities suspect the drugs were supplied by fugitive drug kingpin Fredy Pratama. The bust followed intelligence on an incoming shipment via the Malacca Strait. Officers intercepted a boat at Ujong Blang Beach, capturing the suspects and seven sacks of meth.
Investigators continue tracking additional suspects, including an escaped crew member.
